The UAE Plays an Active Role in Shaping the Future of the Global Space Sector

The United Arab Emirates has successfully concluded its participation in the 76th International Astronautical Congress, which took place in Sydney, Australia from September 29 to October 3, 2025, showcasing the latest advancements in the space sector.

Dr. Ahmed Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, emphasized that the nation’s leadership in various high-level international meetings, including the annual Artemis Accords meeting and the meeting of space agency leaders, highlights the UAE’s pioneering role in steering global dialogue and fostering collaboration for the peaceful and sustainable use of outer space.

He stated, “The UAE believes that space is a strategic tool that supports development and innovation, and enhances cooperation among nations to address the challenges our world faces.”

During the conference, the UAE made a remarkable contribution to scientific research and engaged actively with the global audience. National entities presented over 15 scientific papers across various space-related disciplines, and the UAE’s 400-square-meter pavilion welcomed more than 5,000 international delegates, experts, students, and researchers. A total of 79 representatives from the national space sector participated in the event.

In terms of interactive activities, government and private organizations conducted over 20 sessions and workshops focused on the UAE’s asteroid belt exploration mission, the Emirates Lunar Gateway project, geospatial solutions, the astronaut program, and the international expert team specializing in space situational awareness and economic zones in outer space, as well as startup initiatives.

The UAE pavilion also hosted more than 55 meetings to discuss collaboration opportunities and topics of mutual interest, involving over 200 companies and space agencies.

Eng. Salem Al Dhaheri, Director-General of the UAE Space Agency, reported that the UAE space pavilion experienced significant engagement from senior officials, decision-makers, and international delegations, thereby highlighting the prominent national projects led by the agency.
