U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance addressed the characterization of the situation regarding President Donald Trump’s decision to part ways with National Security Advisor Mike Waltz after the first 100 days in office.
In an interview with Bret Baier from Fox News, Vance stated, “He has been assigned as the ambassador to the United Nations, a position that requires Senate confirmation. I think one could argue quite convincingly that this is a promotion.”
Vance went on to explain that Waltz was brought in to implement “serious reforms” within the National Security Council, and he has succeeded in doing so.
He further commented, “Now it is time for Mike to take on a different role.”
