UAE Conducts Urgent Medical Evacuation for 188 Patients and Their Companions from Gaza

Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, a significant initiative has been launched to provide medical treatment and healthcare to 1,000 injured Palestinian children and 1,000 cancer patients from Gaza at hospitals within the UAE. In cooperation with the World Health Organization, a new evacuation flight was executed from Ramon Airport in Israel via the Kerem Shalom crossing, transporting 101 patients along with 87 family members. This brings the total number of evacuated individuals to 2,634, demonstrating the UAE’s commitment to delivering essential medical care to Palestinian brothers and sisters.

His Excellency Sultan Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organizations and Vice President of the UAE International Aid Agency, remarked, “This initiative by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reflects the UAE’s historical support for the Palestinian people and its solidarity with the residents of Gaza during the current crisis. UAE humanitarian efforts are aimed at alleviating the dire impacts faced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, particularly vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly.”

He further stated, “During this critical period, the UAE will spare no effort in providing aid to our Palestinian brothers, implementing initiatives to support them by land, sea, or air, and will continue to work diligently—taking a leading role with the United Nations and international partners—to intensify efforts needed to assist in mitigating the humanitarian suffering in Gaza. We are committed to ensuring that aid flows immediately, safely, and sustainably through all available routes.”

His Excellency noted that the UAE has been one of the leading countries in supporting the residents of Gaza since the onset of the crisis in October 2023, contributing over 40% of the total aid provided.

He emphasized that the UAE’s ongoing medical evacuation efforts reflect its dedication to providing advanced healthcare to injured Palestinians and to extending humanitarian support during these critical times. He affirmed that the UAE will continue its humanitarian and relief operations, including the evacuation of injured and ill individuals, demonstrating its profound commitment to saving lives.

Additionally, he mentioned, “Since the crisis began, the UAE has been working tirelessly to provide advanced medical care to injured and sick Palestinians through the Emirati field hospital in southern Gaza and the floating hospital off the coast of Al Arish, Egypt. Since the crisis erupted, the UAE has responded with a wide-ranging relief effort to support Palestinian brothers and sisters in their challenging circumstances, delivering over 65,000 tons of relief, food, and medical supplies.
