Experts from the UAE Experts Program, “Fourth Cohort,” have proposed eight innovative solutions aimed at addressing pressing national challenges in areas such as education, healthcare, sustainability, cultural identity, and food security. These solutions reflect the UAE’s strategic vision for the future, emphasizing innovation and social impact. This presentation took place during the Global Behavioral Sciences Conference 2025, marking its inaugural event in the Middle East and North Africa region in Abu Dhabi at New York University from April 30 to May 1, 2025. The solutions were developed using behavioral science methodologies and have undergone extensive field testing.
Ahmad Taleb Al Shamsi, Director of the UAE Experts Program, highlighted the active role of UAE experts in addressing contemporary challenges and formulating appropriate solutions, particularly in priority national areas. He emphasized the significance of leveraging behavioral science methodologies based on scientific evidence and empirical studies to create suitable policies for various critical societal issues.
Regarding the eight proposed solutions, expert Khulood Al Awadhi presented a project focused on empowering students by addressing their individual educational needs, utilizing innovative proposals that consider gender inclusivity, encourage engagement, and support both academic success and active civic participation. Meanwhile, expert Dr. Mohammad Al Amiri suggested behavioral interventions aimed at reducing the prevalence of rare genetic diseases by enhancing pre-marital screening practices and raising community awareness.
Expert Mohammad Al Janahi introduced a behavioral consumption strategy designed to promote the purchase of locally made products through specific measures, including implementing a shelf classification system and launching digital alerts, as well as introducing loyalty incentive programs in stores. Expert Mariam Al Falasi proposed a solution for food security that entails establishing a national food donation system, relying on virtual alerts and behavioral incentives to minimize food waste and loss.
In the realm of youth and digital engagement, expert Faisal Al Haway launched a school and home program aimed at reducing negative screen time among children aged 6 to 10. Additionally, expert Somaya Al Hajri will initiate a national digital awareness campaign titled “Digital Heroes,” to promote responsible and positive social media use among the youth in the UAE.
