Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Mazrouei, a board member of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, stated, “Our participation in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair reflects our ambitious vision to transform knowledge into a bridge connecting the past with the present.”
He added that the library aims to provide an exceptional cultural experience that inspires minds and unveils new avenues for creativity, stemming from its social responsibility and commitment to fostering the national cultural landscape, empowering future generations to build a future based on knowledge as a foundation for innovation and sustainable development.
Furthermore, he mentioned, “We strive to ensure our involvement in this global cultural event serves as a dynamic platform for interaction with intellectual and literary elites, enhancing civilizational dialogue between cultures by showcasing our initiatives and projects focused on innovative knowledge dissemination and utilizing modern technology to serve readers and researchers.”
The fair presents a renewed annual opportunity to expand partnerships with local and international institutions, reinforcing the library’s role as a comprehensive knowledge resource that meets the aspirations of the knowledge community in the UAE and the region.
At its booth, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library will showcase its notable initiatives and facilities, such as the restoration center, methods for preserving manuscripts and rare books, and techniques for their restoration. The public will also be introduced to the Treasures Exhibition, which features over 300 rare items, including books, maps, and ancient manuscripts, some dating back to the 13th century.
Library staff will inform visitors about the various membership categories, digital services, and major publications, including research reports and translated novels. Additionally, among the scheduled activities is a session titled “The Writer’s Voice and the Publisher’s Echo,” discussing the relationship between authors and publishers, as well as a session on “Translation in the Digital Age,” examining the changes occurring in this field in the context of artificial intelligence.
The booth will also host two poetry evenings featuring prominent Arab poets, along with knowledge competitions over the course of the fair.
