Hansika Motwani recently shared insights into her personal journey following her divorce from Sohael Khaturiya, which was finalized on March 11. After three years of marriage, the couple parted ways, and Motwani reflected on the support she received from her family during this challenging period.
In a conversation with Hauterrfly, Hansika spoke highly of her brother’s unwavering support. She mentioned their close bond, emphasizing how her mother and brother encouraged her to prioritize her comfort, especially during difficult times. They witnessed her struggles firsthand, which made their involvement even more significant. Their reassurance, she noted, helped her navigate through a notably dark phase in her life.
Focusing on mental health became crucial for Hansika, who has actively engaged in therapy for the past two years. She candidly remarked about her previous lack of understanding regarding mental well-being, revealing how a friend’s suggestion to seek therapy proved transformative. This experience has guided her, equipping her with tools to manage anxiety and become more resilient in facing various life challenges.
Despite the questions surrounding her marriage, Hansika prefers to keep the specifics of her relationship with Sohael private. She expressed no regrets about her decision to divorce, indicating that the past no longer holds significance for her.
Hansika’s wedding to Sohael took place in a lavish ceremony at Mundota Fort and Palace in Jaipur in December 2022, and it was prominently featured in the Disney+ Hotstar series “Hansika’s Love Shaadi Drama.” The couple’s dissolution came into the spotlight again in 2025 when Hansika removed wedding photos from her Instagram, stirring fresh speculation about their separation. Reports suggest that both families made efforts to mend the relationship, but ultimately they chose to go their separate ways.
In a statement to NDTV, Hansika’s lawyer clarified that she sought neither alimony nor maintenance, emphasizing her desire for a dignified conclusion to the marriage. Now, she is poised to move forward with her career and personal life.
On the work front, Hansika was recently seen in the Tamil film “Guardian” alongside Suresh Chandra Menon and Sriman. Additionally, she has appeared as a judge on the Telugu reality show “Dhee Celebrity Special 2.” Looking ahead, she is set to star in the Prime Video series “Gully,” directed by Praveen Sattaru, which will feature an ensemble cast that includes Sudheer Babu and Shraddha Srinath. The premiere date for the series has yet to be revealed.
