The periods of Eid Al Adha and the summer months are significantly impactful for the tourism industry in the UAE. While the past typically saw peaks in both outbound and inbound travel, 2025 is marking a transformation in how travelers choose to experience destinations.

In this discussion, Samir Hamadeh, the founder and CEO of Elevate DMC, elaborates on the changing behaviors of travelers. He highlights the rising trends in luxury family holidays, immersive cultural activities, and the growing popularity of staycations and short-distance trips.

He also elaborates on how his company is tailoring seasonal travel experiences to match regional tendencies and support the UAE’s ambitious tourism goals.

What impact does Eid Al Adha have on inbound travel patterns in the UAE, and what current trends are emerging regarding destinations and traveler preferences?

The Eid Al Adha period remains a peak time for travel, and this year has seen a marked evolution towards more purposeful travel. Visitors are increasingly in search of immersive cultural experiences, wellness retreats, and locations that foster a stronger connection to nature and heritage.

To meet these new preferences, we are enhancing our offerings with curated cultural experiences, wellness-oriented travel packages, and significant partnerships that adhere to sustainable tourism practices.

Moreover, we have noticed a growing interest in journeys inspired by cinema, highlighting Dubai’s reputation as a global film production center. This phenomenon, known as ‘set-jetting’, encourages travelers to explore destinations featured in films and TV shows, allowing for unique experiences centered around famous locations.

Have you noticed any changes in the types of travelers booking trips to the UAE for Eid and summer, such as an increase in family-oriented travel, luxury experiences, or adventure tourism?

<pDefinitely. There is a clear trend towards family-oriented, luxurious, and adventure-focused travel during Eid and summer periods.

In 2024, the UAE recorded nearly 31 million hotel guests, a 10% increase primarily due to multi-generational family travelers, who accounted for 60% of Eid bookings.

In response, we have crafted premium staycations and adventure experiences across regions like Hatta, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah, blending comfort with elements of nature and cultural engagement. With a rise in luxury spending, we are tailoring exclusive experiences that incorporate wellness and personalized service to align with evolving traveler expectations.

As domestic and regional travel gains traction, how is Elevate DMC catering to UAE and GCC residents seeking staycations or short-distance escapes?

We are designing customized experiences for regional travelers by collaborating with premier hospitality brands and boutique hotels in places like Ras Al Khaimah and the Musandam Peninsula.

These luxurious staycations are centered on wellness, nature, and privacy. Additionally, we are crafting short getaways to culturally significant locations such as Salalah (Oman) and AlUla (Saudi Arabia), merging immersive discovery with high-quality hospitality – perfect for long weekends or brief, revitalizing breaks.

Is there a growing interest in culturally immersive experiences during Eid, such as heritage tours or local festivals? How is your company responding?

<pIndeed, we are witnessing a significant increase in demand for experiences that provide deeper cultural engagement during Eid. Travelers are eager for opportunities to connect with local traditions, heritage, and authentic narratives.

In response, Elevate has launched tailored Eid itineraries that feature guided heritage walks through historic areas, engaging traditional craft workshops led by local artisans, and lively culinary experiences showcasing regional dishes accompanied by live cooking demonstrations. These initiatives aim to offer guests meaningful interactions while celebrating the festive spirit.

Considering that summer is generally viewed as the off-season, how are you modifying your offerings to attract tourists from key markets during this time?

The UAE has enhanced its indoor attractions and established citywide summer offerings in areas such as gastronomy, retail, and entertainment. This includes significant events like the 28th edition of Dubai Summer Surprises, aiming to redefine summer travel.

Elevate is aligning with these initiatives, creating experiences that resonate with citywide campaigns and providing visitors curated access to the finest aspects of Dubai’s summer events.

These efforts continue to position the UAE as an appealing destination year-round, even during traditionally quieter seasons.
