In the reality show Bigg Boss 13, a notable bond developed between contestants Shehnaaz Gill and Sidharth Shukla, captivating viewers throughout the season. However, music composer Abu Malik recently revealed that Sidharth was initially reluctant to engage closely with Shehnaaz early in the competition.
During a recent appearance on the YouTube show Maa Kasam, Malik shared insights about his relationship with Sidharth and his observations regarding the dynamics within the Bigg Boss house. He recounted a conversation where Sidharth expressed concerns about Shehnaaz’s knowledge, highlighting a humorous moment concerning her teammate Asim Riaz’s unfamiliarity with historical context. Malik quoted Sidharth’s remark about wanting to avoid being associated with individuals he perceived as lacking awareness.
Despite these initial hesitations, Sidharth and Shehnaaz eventually forged a strong connection that resonated beyond the confines of the show. From the onset, Shehnaaz’s playful nature and open flirtations with Sidharth brought a lighthearted element to the otherwise competitive and intense environment.
Their affectionate relationship, often referred to as ‘SidNaaz’ by fans, was marked by a deep friendship, even if they never formally acknowledged a romantic involvement. Sidharth ultimately claimed victory in Bigg Boss 13 in 2020, maintaining their close bond throughout their time in the spotlight.
Tragically, Sidharth’s life was cut short when he passed away on September 2, 2021, from a cardiac arrest. In the aftermath of his death, Shehnaaz paid tribute to him through a poignant music video titled Tu Yaheen Hai. Additionally, she honored his memory during the Bigg Boss 15 season finale.
In a recent podcast with Ranveer Allabhadia, Shehnaaz reflected on the impact Sidharth had on her personal growth, stating that he inspired her to mature. She acknowledged that, without the experiences shared during the show and their connection, she might have remained unchanged from her initial persona.
On the professional front, Shehnaaz has recently starred in the film Thank You For Coming, which premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. She also appeared in the music video for Sajna Ve Sajna from the upcoming film Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video and was last seen in the project Ikk Kudi.
