Amaal Mallik Praises Arijit Singh’s Shift from Film Music to Greatness

Singer-composer Amaal Mallik has addressed fans’ concerns regarding Arijit Singh’s recent decision to step back from playback singing in films. Amaal emphasized that while Arijit may be taking a break from mainstream cinema, his musical journey is certainly not over.

In a candid interview, Amaal discussed Arijit’s impressive body of work, stating that there are nearly a hundred unreleased songs from the past four years that will soon be available to the audience. He expressed that no one is happy about Arijit’s departure from film music, but he is not done creating. Amaal mentioned that Arijit is exploring new musical avenues, collaborating with artists like Anoushka Shankar and joining the ranks of music legends such as Ranjit Barot and Zakir Hussain.

Amaal also highlighted the strong bond between Arijit and his younger brother, singer-songwriter Armaan Malik. He praised the mutual respect they share, noting how Armaan stands out while performing alongside one of India’s most celebrated voices. Amaal finds it remarkable to witness his brother’s growth amidst such talent.

The duo has collaborated on several notable Bollywood songs over the years, including popular tracks like “Sooraj Dooba Hain” from Roy and “Roke Na Ruke Naina” from Badrinath Ki Dulhania. Their partnership has produced a mix of romantic ballads and energetic dance numbers, demonstrating their versatility. Amaal’s compositional contributions extend beyond films, with Arijit also lending his voice to non-film projects like “Chal Wahan Jaate Hain,” showcasing their collaborative spirit.

Reflecting on his personal evolution, Amaal shared insights from his experience on Bigg Boss 19, hosted by Salman Khan. He noted that the reality show allowed him to release negativity and helped him strengthen his relationships with family, particularly with his parents and Armaan. Amaal reassured fans that Arijit has various projects lined up, and there are exciting developments on the horizon. Arijit himself has hinted at the potential for new music throughout 2026, ensuring his fans will continue to experience his artistry in innovative ways.
