Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has made headlines with his latest real estate investment in Ayodhya, purchasing a 2.67-acre land parcel for ₹35 crore from The House of Abhinandan Lodha (HoABL). This marks his third investment in the city, known for its spiritual significance and home to the iconic Ram Mandir.
The newly acquired land is situated near HoABL’s extensive 75-acre project, ‘The Sarayu.’ Rajesh Yadav, managing director of AB Corp Ltd, oversaw the transaction, reflecting the company’s expansion in this coveted area. Chairman Abhinandan Lodha highlighted the value of land as an intergenerational asset, emphasizing its importance in Ayodhya, where faith and heritage converge.
Bachchan previously acquired a 25,000 sq ft plot adjacent to The Sarayu in May 2025 for nearly ₹40 crore. Additionally, he purchased a 10,000 sq ft plot within The Sarayu in 2024 for ₹14.5 crore. These transactions underscore his growing interest in Ayodhya’s real estate market and its potential value for long-term investment.
Beyond Ayodhya, Amitabh Bachchan’s luxury real estate portfolio includes a 10,000 sq ft land parcel in HoABL’s ‘Sol de Alibaug’ project for ₹10 crore. This venture has attracted other notable Bollywood figures, enhancing its appeal within the celebrity real estate scene. HoABL reports that over 65% of its clientele consists of CEOs and executives from leading companies, alongside various celebrities.
The changing real estate landscape in Ayodhya has been noted in a report by Liases Foras, which describes the city as a rising global spiritual capital. The report anticipates rapid growth in property values, with land prices increasing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 19%, potentially reaching 25% by 2035.
Significant infrastructure projects have catalyzed this transformation, including the development of an international airport, improved connectivity through roads and railways, and the ongoing construction of the Ram Mandir. Between 2020 and 2025, land values in prime locations like the Sarayu riverfront and Ram Mandir corridor have reportedly appreciated by over 4.5 times, reflecting the growing interest in this spiritually rich city.
As Ayodhya continues to evolve as a destination for both spiritual tourism and real estate investment, Bachchan’s ventures highlight a broader trend among celebrities and investors looking to capitalize on the area’s potential. His investments signal confidence in the sustained appreciation of land value, positioning Ayodhya as an attractive locale for future developments.
