Bollywood actor Anil Kapoor is generating buzz with his upcoming film, “Subedaar.” At the trailer launch event, he shared a humorous insight about his family dynamics, admitting that none of his family members are fans of his work and that he still requests pocket money from his wife.
Anil spoke candidly about his wife, Sunita Kapoor, and her influence on his life. He highlighted her role in keeping him humble, noting, “No one is my fan at my home.” He recounted telling Sunita about the trailer launch, only to receive a puzzled response about which film he was referring to. This, he explained, reflects the grounding nature of his family life. In a light-hearted manner, he mentioned that he sometimes asks for cash in the range of ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 before heading out for work.
The actor also touched upon the depth of his relationship with Sunita while discussing “Subedaar.” He remarked on the significance of his bond with her, stating, “In Subedaar, I think I dug into my relationship with my wife.” Anil expressed that while he shares a friendly relationship with his daughters, Sonam and Rhea, the love he harbors for his wife, his work, and his country holds a special place in his heart.
Anil and Sunita Kapoor’s journey together began with a playful prank call, leading to their marriage on May 19, 1984. The couple has three children: Sonam, who launched her film career in “Saawariya,” Rhea, a film producer, and Harshvardhan, an actor in the Bollywood industry.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, “Subedaar” features Anil Kapoor in the lead role alongside a talented cast, including Radhika Madan, Saurabh Shukla, Aditya Rawal, Mona Singh, and Faisal Malik. The film is produced by Abundantia Entertainment, Opening Image Films, and Anil Kapoor Film & Communication Network, and is set to premiere on Prime Video on March 5.
The official synopsis reveals a gripping tale: “Haunted by loss and drifting away from his daughter, a retired Subedaar Arjun Maurya’s newly found civilian life is jolted by one reckless act. As old wounds reopen, he must summon the warrior within to face a new kind of war – one that hits too close to his heart.
