Anupam Kher Praises Varanasi Railway Station Amidst Cynical Criticism

Actor Anupam Kher recently expressed his admiration for the cleanliness of the Varanasi railway station during a trip to Khajuraho. In a video shared on Instagram, Kher showcased the station early in the morning and emphasized how impressed he was with its upkeep.

Walking around the station while waiting for his train, Kher commented on the neatness of the facility. He stated, “I’m so proud… just see how neat and clean this is.” His positive remarks come amid efforts to promote cleanliness across Indian public spaces, a goal he supports wholeheartedly.

In his Instagram post, Kher remarked on the efforts of the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) initiative, noting that while challenges remain in a vast country like India, progress is being made. He acknowledged that some people might focus on unclean places to disprove his statement, but he remains focused on being optimistic.

Kher’s philosophy of seeing the “glass half full” shapes not only his view on cleanliness but also extends to his life and career. He concluded his note by congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Indian Railways for their commitment to improving sanitation, adding, “Jai Ho! #NayaBharat.”

The actor faced a travel hiccup recently, as his flight from Hyderabad to Khajuraho was canceled. This led him to take a train from Varanasi to Khajuraho, during which he shared earlier video footage, further praising the condition of the Indian Railways and contrasting it with European train experiences.

On the cinematic front, Anupam Kher was recently seen in the film “Tanvi the Great,” which he also directed. The movie, featuring Shubhangi Dutt, premiered in theatres on July 18. He has future projects lined up, including a collaboration with director Sooraj Barjatya.
