Bharat Takhtani, the ex-husband of actress Esha Deol, recently attended a prayer meet at the Deol residence to honor the memory of her late father, notable actor Dharmendra. Dharmendra passed away shortly before the gathering, which was held with family and close friends from the film industry.
Arriving in a simple white kurta, Bharat was captured on video by paparazzi as he made his way to the venue and exchanged warm greetings with the Deol family. His presence at the prayer meet highlights the enduring bond of support between him and Esha, despite their separation.
Esha Deol and Bharat Takhtani were married in a modest ceremony at Mumbai’s ISKCON Temple in 2012, and they share two daughters, Radhya and Maya. After 11 years of marriage, the couple announced their divorce in 2024, which was finalized later that year.
Esha, the elder daughter of Dharmendra and actress Hema Malini, is known for her roles in several successful films including “Dhoom” and “No Entry.” After taking a break from acting following her marriage, Esha returned to the industry a decade later with supporting roles in series like “Rudra” and “Hunter.”
The prayer meet came just days after the passing of Dharmendra, one of the most revered actors in Hindi cinema. He died at home on November 24, 2025, following a brief hospitalization. His funeral took place the same day in the presence of family and friends. Dharmendra was 89 years old, and his death prompted heartfelt tributes from both the entertainment industry and political figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu.
As the Deol family navigates their grief, the gathering served as a moment of remembrance and reflection on Dharmendra’s impactful legacy in Indian cinema.
