Bhooth Bangla Day 2 Box Office: Akshay Kumar’s Film Surpasses ₹23 Crore

The recent release of “Bhooth Bangla” has generated considerable buzz, particularly due to the reunion of beloved actors Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan. Combining elements of horror and comedy, the film has received mixed reviews but has shown promising growth at the box office since its release.

On its second day, “Bhooth Bangla” reportedly garnered ₹19 crore, a notable increase from the ₹12.25 crore collected on its opening day. The film’s positive word of mouth has contributed to this upsurge. On its preview day, it earned ₹3.75 crore net, raising its total gross in India to ₹42 crore and net earnings to ₹35 crore.

Directed by Priyadarshan, the film marks a significant collaboration with Akshay Kumar, recalling their successful partnerships in past hits like “Hera Pheri” and “Bhool Bhulaiyaa.” Joining them are notable actors such as Wamiqa Gabbi, Tabu, Mithila Palkar, Rajpal Yadav, and Jisshu Sengupta.

The storyline centers on Arjun (played by Akshay Kumar) and his sister (Mithila Palkar), who inherits a palace from their grandfather. Arjun travels to Mangalpur, India, to prepare for his sister’s wedding in the inherited estate. However, local legends suggest that no weddings can take place due to the presence of Vadhusur, a spirit that abducts brides, setting the stage for the ensuing drama.

Mithila Palkar shared the backstory of landing her role as Akshay’s sister through a heartfelt Instagram post. She credited Kalyani Priyadarshan for recommending her to her father, director Priyadarshan, expressing her gratitude for the unexpected opportunity. Her excitement is palpable as she thanks fans for their love toward the film’s trailer, eagerly anticipating their reaction to the full movie.

Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures, the film is a collaboration with Cape of Good Films, and is co-produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor. With its blend of humor and suspense, “Bhooth Bangla” aims to entertain audiences while reviving the classic comedic styles of its lead actors.
