Border 2 surpasses ₹400 crore globally on day 13, outpacing 3 Idiots and Krrish 3

In just under two weeks, the war drama “Border 2” has made a significant impact at the global box office, surpassing the ₹400 crore milestone. Starring Sunny Deol, the film benefitted from a strong opening and an impressive Republic Day weekend, which contributed to its performance in the following week. As the pace of earnings slows, the film’s potential to reach the ₹500 crore mark remains uncertain.

“Border 2” earned ₹224.25 crore net during its first week, highlighted by a remarkable ₹59 crore collection on Republic Day. Directed by Anurag Singh, the film saw continued earnings in its second weekend but faced a decline during the weekdays. On Wednesday, it recorded its lowest single-day earnings with ₹4 crore net, bringing the domestic total to ₹290.75 crore net (₹347.50 crore gross).

Globally, the film had a robust start in its opening weekend, yet its momentum has decreased over the following days. After 13 days, its overseas collection amounts to approximately $5.8 million, contributing to a cumulative global total of ₹400 crore. The filmmakers estimate the worldwide earnings have reached ₹411 crore by this point.

“Border 2” has achieved the distinction of becoming the 43rd Indian film to gross ₹400 crore or more internationally. It has surpassed the final collections of prior blockbusters, including Hrithik Roshan’s “Krrish 3,” Salman Khan’s “Kick,” and Shah Rukh Khan’s “Chennai Express.” Recently, it also exceeded Aamir Khan’s “3 Idiots,” which grossed ₹400 crore. At its current rate of collection, “Border 2” is likely to finish between ₹450 crore and ₹475 crore, barring any unforeseen spikes in its earnings.

The film is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta. It boasts a strong supporting cast, including Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh. There is already a sequel titled “Border 3” planned for the future.
