Can You Identify These Iconic Shah Rukh Khan Songs Like Zohran Mamdan

In a recent interview, Zohran Mamdani, the newly elected Mayor of New York City, showcased both his admiration for Bollywood and his struggle to recall some iconic songs from the industry. Known for his youthful charm and progressive views, Mamdani’s love for Indian cinema often shines through.

Earlier this month, Mamdani celebrated his electoral victory with the upbeat track “Dhoom Machale,” underscoring his Bollywood fandom. However, during a quiz segment on Zeteo, he faced a challenging test to identify popular songs from famed Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. Despite his enthusiasm, he found himself in a few awkward moments.

During the quiz, the host asked Mamdani to identify songs based on short clips. He confidently recognized “Chaiyya Chaiyaa” from the 1998 film “Dil Se…,” but stumbled when asked to name “It’s the Time to Disco” from “Kal Ho Naa Ho.” His humorous remark, “Should have had ‘call a friend’!” illustrated his playful disposition despite the pressure.

The quiz continued with the song “Bole Chudiyan” from “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.” Mamdani’s struggle to identify the song led him to theatrically close his eyes, reminiscing about Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic gestures in the music video. The host noted his amusing attempt to stall for time, suggesting he was at a loss for the title.

Zohran Mamdani is the son of acclaimed filmmaker Mira Nair, recognized for her influential works such as “Monsoon Wedding.” His recent election victory marks a significant milestone, as he becomes the first Muslim mayor of New York City and the youngest individual to hold this office in over a century. Running on a progressive agenda, he triumphed over notable opponents including former Governor Andrew Cuomo and Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa.

As he continues to navigate his new role in the municipal landscape, Mamdani’s engagement with popular culture, particularly Bollywood, adds a layer of relatability to his public persona, melding governance with entertainment.
