Chiranjeevi’s Latest Film Soars at Global Box Office, Outshining Prabhas

Chiranjeevi’s latest film, “Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu,” is making waves at the box office, showcasing impressive earnings since its release. With the film crossing the ₹100 crore net mark in India and grossing over ₹150 crore globally, it has already emerged as the first major hit of the year for Indian cinema.

The film had a notably successful run during the Sankranti festival, raking in ₹19.50 crore on Wednesday and ₹22 crore on Thursday, bringing its domestic earnings to ₹101.85 crore net. Additionally, it accumulated over $4 million from international markets, pushing its worldwide gross beyond ₹150 crore. As the film competes with another significant Telugu release, Prabhas’ “The Raja Saab,” it is on track to surpass its earnings due to contrasting audience receptions.

The competition between “Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu” and “The Raja Saab” was not anticipated to be a clash, but the former’s box office success and the latter’s struggle have framed it as such. While “The Raja Saab” opened with ₹100 crore globally, it saw a sharp decline, falling to single-digit collections by Monday. In stark contrast, “Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu” launched with ₹65 crore on its opening day, followed by a considerable rise in earnings on the two Sankranti holidays, amassing over ₹43 crore in domestic markets.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, this film embodies the signature style of Chiranjeevi, blending action with entertaining elements. Alongside Chiranjeevi, the cast includes Nayanthara and features a notable cameo by Daggubati Venkatesh. Released on January 12, ahead of the Sankranti celebration, “Mana Shankara Varaprasad Garu” seems to be carving its own successful path in the current cinematic landscape.
