Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar, has achieved remarkable success at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film in India. As of now, the film has reportedly earned ₹648 crore net within just over three weeks of its release, surpassing previous records set by popular films like Jawan and Chhaava.
On its 22nd day in theaters, Dhurandhar continued to attract audiences, bringing in over ₹15 crore in its fourth week. This impressive run has solidified its position at the top of the highest-grossing Bollywood films list, having dethroned Jawan, which amassed ₹640 crore during its theatrical run. The film also surpassed Chhaava (₹601 crore) and Stree 2 (₹598 crore), making a significant mark within the industry.
The landscape of Bollywood films reaching the ₹500 crore milestone is growing. Besides Dhurandhar, notable entries include Animal (₹553 crore), Gadar 2 (₹525 crore), and Pathaan (₹543 crore). Notably, Pathaan was the first Hindi film to enter this lucrative club after holding the record previously, which was set by Dangal back in 2016.
In addition to the impressive figures for domestic releases, a few pan-India films with Hindi-dubbed versions have joined the ₹500 crore club as well. Films like Baahubali 2 (₹511 crore) and Pushpa 2: The Rule (₹812 crore) have reached these heights, with the latter holding the record for the highest domestic collection by a Hindi film.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh as Hamza, an Indian spy navigating the intricate and dangerous world of Karachi’s terror networks. The film also boasts a stellar cast, including Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan in pivotal roles. Fans can look forward to the sequel, set to release in March 2026.
As the film industry continues to evolve, Dhurandhar sets a new benchmark for Bollywood’s box office potential, showcasing the growing appetite for domestic films among audiences both in India and abroad.
