The film “120 Bahadur,” starring Farhan Akhtar, has recently been declared tax-free in Delhi. This announcement was made by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, emphasizing the film’s tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of Indian soldiers during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
In her statement, CM Gupta highlighted the extraordinary valor of the soldiers, particularly focusing on Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, whose leadership at the Battle of Rezang La remains a significant part of India’s military history. She mentioned that the Delhi Government’s decision to grant tax-free status, effective from November 28, acts as a mark of respect to these courageous individuals.
The film portrays Major Shaitan Singh leading his troops against overwhelming odds, as 120 Indian soldiers defended their position against over 2000 Chinese troops. This historic battle has been pivotal in shaping India’s military legacy. Critics have favorably reviewed “120 Bahadur,” recognizing its focus on heroism and sacrifice.
Additionally, the film received commendation from political leaders, including Akhilesh Yadav, who praised it for delivering a meaningful message. Farhan Akhtar publicly thanked Yadav, expressing appreciation for his acknowledgment and the support shown to the film’s creative team.
Despite the positive reviews, “120 Bahadur” has faced challenges at the box office, earning approximately ₹15 crore in its first week of release. The film is directed by Razneesh Ghai and produced under Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment banner, featuring notable performances from Raashii Khanna, Vivan Bhatena, and Ankit Siwach.
As “120 Bahadur” continues to draw attention for its patriotic themes and storytelling, it serves as a reminder of the valor displayed by the military, prompting reflections on India’s history and the sacrifices made for the nation.
