Jailer 2 Faces Security Breach Just Days After Jana Nayagan Release

A recent leak of a video clip from the highly anticipated film Jailer 2, starring Rajinikanth, has raised concerns within the industry. The clip, reportedly filmed on set, found its way onto social media, prompting a swift response from the production house, Sun Pictures.

The unauthorized clip quickly circulated, even among fans, before being taken down. Sun Pictures issued a stern warning, emphasizing that the anti-piracy team is actively monitoring online platforms to remove such content. A spokesperson from the production team stated, “We would like to bring to your attention that a Clip from the sets of Jailer 2 is currently being circulated on social media platforms.”

In addition to monitoring, the production team is prepared to take legal action against those sharing the material. The statement further highlighted the seriousness of the situation: “Our anti-piracy team is actively monitoring the situation and will be taking necessary action to remove such content.” They also urged fans and media members to refrain from sharing the video to avoid repercussions on their social media accounts.

This incident marks the second significant leak in Kollywood within a short timeframe. Just days prior, an HD print of Vijay’s film Jana Nayagan was leaked online, resulting in nine arrests by Chennai police. The Cyber Crime department indicated that a freelance assistant editor was the main perpetrator behind the leak.

Jailer 2 serves as a sequel to the 2023 hit Jailer, also directed by Nelson. Rajinikanth returns as the protagonist, ‘Tiger’ Muthuvel Pandian. The cast includes Ramya Krishnan as his wife, Vijaya, alongside other notable actors like Shiva Rajkumar and Mohanlal, who reprise their roles from the previous film. The first film was a commercial success, grossing over ₹600 crore worldwide. At this time, a release date for Jailer 2 has not yet been announced.
