Kangana Ranaut, an actress and BJP Member of Parliament from Mandi, has recently shared rare moments with veteran actress Hema Malini. Their candid photos were posted on Kangana’s Instagram Stories during a break from Parliament sessions, offering a glimpse into their camaraderie.
In one of the images, the two are seen smiling together on a couch. Kangana donned a lavender sweater paired with a peach saree, while Hema Malini looked elegant in a printed yellow and green saree. Kangana captioned the moment, “Sansad mein sukoon ke kuch pal with #dreamgirl,” tagging Hema in her post. Hema Malini, affectionately referred to as the “dream girl,” received significant admiration from both colleagues and fans. The second photo featured a selfie taken by Kangana, accompanied by hashtags including “dream girl” and “winter session 2026.” Additionally, she added a nostalgic touch by featuring Kishore Kumar’s song “Dream Girl” as the background music.
Kangana has consistently conveyed her admiration for Hema Malini. Following the passing of Dharmendra, Hema’s husband, Kangana attended a prayer meeting in New Delhi in December 2022. At this gathering, she paid floral tributes and interacted with Hema and her daughters, Esha and Ahana Deol. During this event, Kangana reflected on the legacy left by Dharmendra and expressed her respect for Hema’s contributions.
In 2024, Kangana publicly praised Hema by resharing a throwback video showcasing the actress performing at the age of twenty. In her Instagram story, she highlighted Hema’s enduring talent, stating that even now, Hema could deliver a 3-4 hour performance. Kangana criticized those who belittle dance, music, and art, labeling such attitudes as signs of superficial thinking.
The same year, Kangana also defended Hema against derogatory remarks made by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. She commended Hema for her dedication to the arts and denounced the sexist and misogynistic nature of the comments. Kangana articulated her discontent with societal attitudes towards women, emphasizing that no one should face derogatory comments, regardless of their age.
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in the film “Emergency,” where she portrayed the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The movie debuted in theatres on January 17, 2023. Looking ahead, she is set to make her Hollywood debut in the horror drama “Blessed Be the Evil,” where she will star alongside Tyler Posey and Scarlet Rose Stallone. Filming for this project is slated to commence this summer in New York, with direction by Anurag Rudra.
