Mandana Karimi Reveals Ban in Iran and Plans to Leave India

Actor Mandana Karimi has voiced her concerns regarding the escalating situation in India amidst the ongoing US-Iran conflict. The recent assassination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, resulting from coordinated attacks by the United States and Israel, has significantly intensified tensions in the Middle East. Mandana, who hails from Iran, took to Instagram to clarify her position and reiterate that she cannot return to Iran due to a decade-old ban.

In a recent video, Mandana addressed her followers, emphasizing that her statements from an interview had sparked widespread discussion on social media. She expressed frustration over how media outlets often misrepresent comments, taking snippets out of context to create sensational headlines. To mitigate misunderstandings, she sought to provide clarity directly to her audience.

Mandana stated, “I have been banned from Iran for 10 years and cannot go back. While I am leaving India, I want to stress that I am not returning to Iran. Recently, I have felt unsupported in India, and it has been disheartening to witness public reactions following Khamenei’s death. People are expressing their sorrow in a way that I cannot.”

She added that her current living conditions limit her movement for security reasons, conveying that only a few trusted friends are aware of her location. Despite this, she remains committed to advocating for Iranians who continue to face dire circumstances in their homeland. Her hiatus from acting for the past six years was a personal choice, but she feels compelled to share her perspective as someone who has firsthand knowledge of the situation in Iran.

In her post, Mandana emphasized the seriousness of her situation, explaining, “It should be clear that I cannot return to Iran right now—there is war, danger, and I am banned. This is not complicated.” She highlighted the importance of amplifying the voices of Iranians seeking freedom, contrasting this with the tendency of some to prioritize sensationalism over truth.

In the backdrop of these developments, the US-Iran conflict has seen Iran retaliating against the US-Israel strikes by launching drone and missile attacks on various Arab nations. The death of Khamenei has prompted Iran to enter a period of public mourning, during which other senior military figures from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps also lost their lives.

Additionally, reports from Bandar Abbas, a strategic southern port city in Iran, indicated significant explosions near military facilities associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, particularly close to the Strait of Hormuz. As tensions escalate, Iran has commenced a new wave of missile strikes, with loud explosions reported in eastern Tehran, sending shockwaves across the city. The nature of the targets remains unclear as the situation evolves.
