Mardaani 3 Box Office Update: Rani Mukerji’s Film Approaches ₹25 Crore Mark

The third installment of the Mardaani franchise, starring Rani Mukerji, continues to garner attention at the box office. Since its release, Mardaani 3 has accumulated approximately ₹25 crore in India, showcasing a solid performance in its opening week. The film also features Janki Bodiwala and Mallika Prasad in prominent roles.

On the opening day, Mardaani 3 earned ₹4 crore, followed by ₹6.25 crore on day two and ₹7.25 crore on the third day. The fourth day saw a dip with ₹2.25 crore, and it collected ₹2.60 crore on day five. Early estimates for day six indicate a further collection of ₹2 crore, bringing the total to around ₹24.35 crore to date.

Directed by Abhiraj Minwala and penned by Aayush Gupta, Mardaani 3 follows the story of SSP Shivani Shivaji Roy, played by Mukerji, as she investigates the alarming disappearance of 93 young girls over a span of three months. This sequel joins its predecessors, the 2014 original Mardaani, directed by Pradeep Sarkar, and Mardaani 2, directed by Gopi Puthran.

The film maintains the franchise’s tradition of addressing pressing social issues. While the previous installments tackled human trafficking and the psyche of a ruthless serial killer, Mardaani 3 delves into another significant social concern, emphasizing the series’ commitment to thought-provoking narratives.

Rani Mukerji recently expressed her belief in the power of cinema to engage and impact audiences. She emphasized that Mardaani 3 aims to resonate with viewers on a deeper level. “This film belongs to every viewer who believes that cinema can do more than entertain… if Mardaani 3 has moved you, disturbed you, or made you think – then it has done its job,” she stated.

She further highlighted the importance of collective action for change, stressing that societal transformation starts at home and in education. “Our girls do not need our sympathy. They need our protection. They need our courage. They need our voices right now,” Mukerji pointed out, advocating for respect and empowerment for young girls.

Mardaani 3’s compelling narrative and Rani Mukerji’s commitment to the film’s message contribute to its ongoing success in theaters. The movie not only entertains but also aims to provoke thought and inspire action on important issues affecting society today.
