Mira Rajput recently shared a nostalgic look back at her wedding to actor Shahid Kapoor, nearly ten years after their nuptials. Through an Instagram post, she offered fans a glimpse of their grand reception by showcasing a photo of their wedding invitation, reflecting on the significance of that day.
In her Instagram story, Mira displayed a beautiful close-up of the minimalist wedding card, which invited guests to celebrate “the beginning of their new life.” The elegantly designed card featured details about the reception, including the date—July 7, 2015—time, venue at The Oberoi in Gurgaon, and a lotus design symbolizing purity and moral excellence. It also acknowledged their families, including Mira’s parents and Shahid’s.
This year, to commemorate their anniversary, Mira shared a series of throwback images on Instagram, capturing special moments from their life together. Among these were pictures of their children, Misha, born in 2016, and Zain, born in 2018. Mira expressed her enduring affection in her post, writing, “Ten years later, and you’re still the one, my forever. You and I, we, us, and now.”
The love story of Mira and Shahid began as an arranged marriage, facilitated by family connections through a religious community. Although Mira took about six months to agree, Shahid was captivated by her at first sight during a long conversation at a farmhouse in Delhi. He was particularly taken by her light hazel eyes. Despite the 13-to-14-year age difference, which made him hesitant initially, Mira embraced the love that blossomed between them. They finally married in a private ceremony in Delhi on July 7, 2015.
