Mukesh Khanna Shares Details of ICU Setup at Home for Dharmendra

Mukesh Khanna recently shared his memories of the iconic actor Dharmendra during an emotional visit to the veteran star’s home. After being discharged from the hospital, Dharmendra received a specialized ICU-like setup to support his recovery, surrounded by loved ones hopeful for his return to health.

In a heartfelt video on his YouTube channel, Khanna recounted his last meeting with Dharmendra, emphasizing the importance of being there despite the somber circumstances. He visited just days after Dharmendra’s discharge from the hospital, fully aware that their meeting wouldn’t be as it once was. During this visit, he also had the chance to meet Dharmendra’s sons, Sunny and Bobby Deol, and expressed his belief in their father’s strength.

Khanna remarked on Dharmendra’s resilience, stating, “He is very strong. He will come out of this… he will get through this problem.” However, he acknowledged the unpredictability of life, reflecting that “whatever God wills is what happens.” The news of Dharmendra’s decline shocked many, as he was seen as a figure of strength whose spirit was unyielding, despite his physical struggles.

Reflecting on their shared history, Mukesh Khanna recalled meaningful moments from their collaboration on the film “Tahalka.” He admired Dharmendra’s simplicity and humility, noting how these qualities contributed to his enduring charm. Even in his final days, Dharmendra maintained a positive demeanor, which left a lasting impression on Khanna.

Dharmendra passed away on November 24 at the age of 89, just weeks shy of his 90th birthday. He had been experiencing health issues and was hospitalized on November 10. After recovering sufficiently at home following his hospital stay, he ultimately succumbed to his ailments. His cremation took place in Mumbai the day after his passing, and many of his film industry peers, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan, gathered to pay their respects.

A prayer meet to honor Dharmendra’s life was held in Mumbai, organized by the Deol family under the theme “Celebration of Life.” This event drew an array of attendees, including notable figures such as Shah Rukh Khan, Rekha, and Aishwarya Rai, all coming together to remember and celebrate the legacy of the beloved actor.
