Mumtaz Reflects on Heartfelt Farewell to Asha Bhosle in Touching Tribute

Legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle passed away at the age of 92 on April 12 as a result of multiple organ failure. Her funeral took place the following day, where she was honored by family, friends, and fans alike.

Actress Mumtaz shared a poignant video from the funeral on Instagram, capturing a moment where she gazes at Bhosle and remarks, “Kitni pyaari lag rahi hai,” which translates to “She looks so lovely.” In the video, she requests the videographer to move closer, calling the moment “yadgaari” or “something worth remembering.”

In her caption, Mumtaz expressed her deep sorrow, stating, “Not every relationship, not every love, is meant for the world to witness. Some bonds live quietly within the heart.” She reminisced about the profound impact Bhosle had on her life and career, stating that the late singer’s voice added depth and emotion to her performances. In sharing her tribute, she emphasized the timeless magic of Bhosle’s music, saying it would always resonate in their hearts.

Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on April 11 due to exhaustion and a chest infection, but her condition deteriorated significantly, leading to her passing the next day. The last rites were performed by her son, Anand Bhosle, at the Shivaji Park Crematorium, where she received full state honors. Many prominent Bollywood figures, including Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Vicky Kaushal, attended the funeral service to pay their final respects.

Tributes flooded in from various artists following her death. Singers such as Shreya Ghoshal and Karan Aujla honored her memory during their concerts, while Farhan Akhtar performed her iconic song “Dum Maaro Dum” at a university event in Jalandhar, Punjab.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed his condolences. He reflected on Bhosle’s extraordinary musical journey and the impact she had on India’s cultural heritage and global audience.
