Naveen Kaushik’s Journey: How Aditya Dhar Restored His Faith in Acting

Filmmaker Aditya Dhar is enjoying success with his latest project, Dhurandhar, which has joined the exclusive ₹1,000-crore club, alongside other blockbusters like Jawan and Pathaan. The film has received accolades for its cast, who have expressed gratitude to Dhar for his faith in their talents. Among these actors is Naveen Kaushik, who portrays the character Donga and has shared his journey of overcoming self-doubt.

Recently, Naveen posted on Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the film and included a heartfelt note of appreciation directed at Aditya Dhar. He emphasized the fundamental importance of self-trust in an actor’s career, describing a challenging period in his life when he faced significant doubts. After reflecting on the trials of the entertainment industry—such as rejections and long waits for casting calls—Naveen articulated the necessity of believing in oneself.

Prior to his audition for Dhurandhar, Naveen reached a crossroads, mentally preparing to exit the industry altogether. He recalled how a meeting with Aditya proved pivotal, where their shared background in Delhi theatre rekindled his motivation. During a collective story narration session, Naveen noted that Aditya emphasized the need for trust among the cast to bring the story to life, which made him feel a deep connection to the project.

In his acknowledgment, Naveen praised Aditya for guiding the production through its highs and lows. He described the past year and a half as a thrilling yet difficult journey, commending Aditya’s leadership and vision, which remained steadfast even in challenging moments. As Aditya rises in stature within the industry, Naveen recognized him as a master storyteller with a unique craft.

Naveen Kaushik, who embarked on his film career with a role in Dev.D in 2009, later gained recognition in Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year alongside Ranbir Kapoor. His career path has included appearances in YRF’s Seven, Amazon Prime Video’s Inside Edge, and films like Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and Bank Chor.

Dhurandhar has proven to be a box office hit since its release, showcasing a talented ensemble cast that includes Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, and Sanjay Dutt. While critics may have offered mixed reviews, the film’s strong audience reception has propelled it to remarkable financial success. Notably, within just 22 days, it surpassed the ₹1,000-crore milestone, and a sequel is already planned for release in March 2026.
