Nick Jonas Reflects on Malti’s Early Struggles and Hospital Visits

Nick Jonas, the renowned singer and husband of actress Priyanka Chopra, recently discussed the challenging circumstances surrounding the birth of their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas. During an episode of the Jay Shetty Podcast, he expressed admiration for Malti, describing her as a source of magic in his life. His emotional reflections on fatherhood resonated throughout the conversation, highlighting his deep connection to his daughter.

In recounting the experience of Malti’s arrival, Nick revealed that she was born under difficult conditions. Initially expecting her birth in April 2022, he and Priyanka were surprised by an earlier delivery. Nick described how Malti weighed just 1 pound and 11 ounces at birth, sharing how the NICU team sprang into action to resuscitate and care for her.

During Malti’s 3.5-month stay in the hospital, Nick and Priyanka took on grueling 12-hour shifts each day. This period coincided with the COVID-19 pandemic, adding an extra layer of complexity to their situation. Nick vividly remembered the experience, noting how both comforting and terrifying it was to witness other families navigating similar challenges. Over time, Malti showed remarkable resilience, gradually gaining weight and improving after receiving six blood transfusions.

Nick and Priyanka’s journey together began with their marriage in Rajasthan in 2018, featuring both a traditional Christian ceremony and a Hindu wedding. The couple welcomed their first child, Malti, in January 2022, adding a new dimension to their family life.

Looking ahead, Nick is set to appear alongside Paul Rudd in an upcoming film titled “Power Ballad,” directed by John Carney. The film is scheduled for release on June 5 this year, signaling an exciting new chapter for the artist as he balances his personal and professional commitments.
