Prashant Narayanan, an actor recognized for his performances in films like “Murder 2” and “Ghost,” has spoken candidly about his views on fellow actor Kartik Aaryan. During a recent podcast, he did not hold back in labeling Kartik as “terrible” and suggested that his success is largely due to luck and the support of his family.
In his remarks on Bollywood Bubble, Prashant did not shy away from critiquing Kartik’s talents. He expressed his belief that Kartik is surviving in the industry mainly through the blessings of his parents rather than merit. While he acknowledged that he liked Kartik in his debut film, “Pyaar Ka Punchnama,” he suggested that current audiences discern a difference in the intent behind their laughter when watching his films.
When pressed on why audiences continue to support actors like Kartik, Prashant remarked, “I don’t know how many people are appreciating them, but I have seen people laughing at them.” He emphasized that while some laughter can be wholesome, a significant portion comes from a less flattering place, indicating that the enjoyment is often at the expense of the performer.
On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan has enjoyed recent box office success with the “Bhool Bhulaiyaa” franchise, where both the second and third installments surpassed ₹250 crore at the box office. However, not all of his newer projects have performed well; his latest release, “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera,” saw disappointing results. Despite this, he received praise for his role in Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports biopic “Chandu Champion,” with the director remarking that Kartik deserves a National Award for his performance. Currently, he is filming “Naagzilla,” a supernatural thriller produced by Dharma Productions in Delhi.
Meanwhile, Prashant Narayanan’s career trajectory is noteworthy. He began in the film industry as an art director in the early 1990s and transitioned into acting with his debut in the 2002 film “Chhal.” He has since made a name for himself, particularly in negative roles, winning the Screen Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for his performance in “Murder 2.” Recently, he appeared in “Badass Ravi Kumar,” reinforcing his continual presence in the industry.
