Pratham Mittal Aims to Infuse More Heart into Shark Tank India 5

Pratham Mittal, founder of Tetr College of Business and Masters’ Union, has joined the fifth season of Shark Tank India as part of a Campus Special. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Mittal shared his excitement about embracing this new opportunity, despite feeling “imposter syndrome.” He sees his role on the show as a platform to advocate for student entrepreneurship.

Mittal emphasizes the importance of positive reinforcement for young entrepreneurs. He expressed his belief that constructive feedback is essential and that criticism can be demotivating for those taking risks to pursue their dreams. Engaging in a candid conversation from Andaman, he highlighted his friendships with fellow sharks, including Aman Gupta, co-founder of boAt Lifestyle, and his desire for a more supportive entrepreneurial narrative on reality TV.

The transition from running educational institutions to joining Shark Tank signals a shift toward a more heart-centered approach in the business world, according to Mittal. He believes reality television can often be harsh, and he aims to foster a more encouraging environment for budding entrepreneurs. This positive outlook may serve as a necessary counterbalance to the critical nature of the current entrepreneurial discourse.

While acknowledging that Shark Tank has faced criticism regarding its portrayal of contestants, Mittal maintained that his demeanor leans toward gentleness. He reassured viewers that his interactions with fellow sharks would reflect authenticity, even if it means steering clear of confrontational debates. His camaraderie with Gupta and familiarity with other sharks, including Peyush Bansal and Ritesh Agarwal, contributes to a collaborative atmosphere on the show.

Mittal’s focus extends beyond traditional corporate pathways, as he recognizes the evolving mindset of Gen Z and Alpha generations. In his view, younger individuals are increasingly seeking alternative career trajectories rather than adhering to conventional job norms. He describes his educational initiatives at Masters’ Union and Tetr as environments that prioritize entrepreneurial ventures over rote learning, likening them to a blend of an incubator and a college.

Moreover, Mittal advocates for a significant overhaul of the outdated education system, critiquing its rigid structure reminiscent of military or factory training. He calls for a curriculum that is more aligned with modern realities, emphasizing the need for flexibility in how education is delivered—highlighting the absurdity of prohibiting laptops in many institutions.

His perspective on emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, reflects a balanced outlook. Rather than instilling fear, Mittal sees the potential for these advancements to be harnessed as tools for competitive advantage. He humorously acknowledges the uncertainties surrounding future technological impacts on employment.

Addressing work-life balance, Mittal contends that fulfillment is key to longevity and well-being. He advocates for a flexible approach to work hours, asserting that individuals should strive for satisfaction over rigid schedules. With insights from industry leaders, he underscores the importance of working smarter rather than just adhering to conventional practices.

As the anticipation builds for Shark Tank India Season 5, set to premiere on January 5, 2026, Pratham Mittal’s fresh perspective brings a new dynamic to the series, aiming to inspire and uplift the next generation of entrepreneurs. His mission reflects a broader vision of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem where innovation and support coexist harmoniously.
