Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently expressed his admiration for the action spy thriller Dhurandhar, featuring Ranveer Singh in the lead role. During a live session with fans, held via his lifestyle brand Ark, Ranbir was prompted to reveal his current favorite movie and unhesitatingly named Dhurandhar, praising it as an exceptional cinematic experience.
Ranbir stated, “The last, current favorite movie was Dhurandhar. Absolutely loved that film. I think the entire cast and crew smashed it. Really good times at the movies.” This endorsement reflects the film’s positive reception within the industry and among audiences.
Dhurandhar has garnered acclaim from various Bollywood celebrities, including Karan Johar and Ram Gopal Varma, who took to social media to share their thoughts about the film. Alia Bhatt’s production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions, also joined in celebrating the film’s success, highlighting its historical significance in Indian cinema.
In an Instagram post, Eternal Sunshine Productions stated, “It’s the voice of today’s India. It’s the choice of today’s India. It’s based on a chapter in history. And now it’s the number one chapter in India’s cinema history.” They applauded the team for their role in revitalizing the theatrical experience, expressing excitement for the forthcoming sequel.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar features Ranveer Singh as an Indian spy tasked with infiltrating criminal organizations in Pakistan’s Lyari to dismantle a terror network aimed at India. The film also stars notable actors Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, and R Madhavan in key roles, with Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi supporting. With a worldwide box office collection exceeding ₹1300 crore, it has set records as the first Bollywood film to surpass ₹1000 crore domestically.
Fans are now looking forward to the sequel, titled Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where Ranveer will reprise his role alongside his co-stars. The film is slated for release in theaters on March 19, 2026, coinciding with Yash’s anticipated project, Toxic: A Fairytale for Grown-Ups.
