Actor Ranbir Kapoor recently attracted attention for his role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film, Animal. The movie explores a troubled father-son bond set against a backdrop of crime and violence. Prior to its release in Japan on February 13, Ranbir and Vanga participated in a screening discussion, where they shared insights about the film’s narrative.
During the event, Ranbir expressed his admiration for Vanga’s earlier works and noted the rare connection he felt when meeting the director. He articulated that understanding Vanga’s vision for Animal allowed him to appreciate the story on a deeper level.
Ranbir highlighted the film’s intense themes, acknowledging that while it may appear to be predominantly action-driven, its emotional core revolves around father-son dynamics. He reflected on how many men from his generation may relate to the distance often experienced in familial relationships, making their collaboration particularly meaningful for him.
In Animal, Anil Kapoor portrays Ranbir’s father, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as his wife and Triptii Dimri in a significant supporting role. The plot follows Ranbir’s character, Rannvijay Singh, as he seeks vengeance after an assassination attempt on his father.
The film also features Bobby Deol as the antagonist and has achieved remarkable commercial success, surpassing the ₹900 crore milestone globally and securing its place as one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. Following the film’s success, plans for a sequel titled Animal Park are already underway.
