Rani Mukerji and Deepti Sharma Celebrate Gender-Neutral Achievements on Republic Day

Yash Raj Films has launched a thought-provoking video featuring acclaimed National Award-winning actress Rani Mukerji and Indian women’s cricket team all-rounder Deepti Sharma. Released just before Republic Day, the video challenges societal perceptions of gender in achievement.

In the clip, both Rani and Deepti discuss how certain professions, such as chefs and pilots, are seldom categorized by gender. They pose an essential question: why should accomplishments be judged any differently? To further amplify their message, the video showcases an all-female crew working behind the scenes, emphasizing that their message extends beyond spoken words.

The video culminates in a resonant declaration: “Achievements ka koi gender nahi hota. This Republic Day, let go of labels.” This statement reinforces the notion that accomplishments should be recognized for their merit, rather than filtered through the lens of gender.

On a related note, in response to the trailer for Mardaani 3, India’s World Cup-winning women’s cricket captain Harmanpreet Kaur highlighted the pressing need for accountability and justice regarding crimes against women. She emphasized the necessity for swift penalties in such cases while expressing her appreciation for the Indian police’s dedication to safeguarding women and girls. On her Instagram stories, she remarked, “Love our police force who are always there to protect us every day #Mardaani3 trailer is insane. Can’t wait to watch the film.”

The Mardaani 3 trailer has quickly gained traction and become one of the most discussed releases from the Hindi film industry. Rani Mukerji returns to her role as Shivani Shivaji Roy, a determined cop who is on a race against time to save 93 missing young girls.

The Mardaani franchise has been noted for its bold storytelling, addressing pressing social issues. The original Mardaani (2014) brought attention to human trafficking, while Mardaani 2 (2019) examined the psyche of a serial rapist who posed a challenge to the justice system. Mardaani 3 is set to continue this tradition by tackling another grave societal concern. The film is scheduled for a theatrical release worldwide on January 30, 2026.
