Simbu Speaks Out on CBFC Controversy Surrounding Jana Nayagan and Vijay

Amid ongoing challenges surrounding the release of Vijay’s final film, Jana Nayagan, Silambarasan TR, known as Simbu, has publicly expressed his support for both the actor and the project. Facing legal disputes with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the film’s release has been delayed, prompting Simbu to address the situation in an interview.

Simbu emphasized the deep connection between Vijay and Jana Nayagan, asserting, “We cannot separate Jana Nayagan and Vijay.” His comments reflect a desire to highlight Vijay’s significant contributions to the film industry, especially as he prepares for what he hopes will be a triumphant conclusion to his cinematic journey.

Support for Vijay has been a consistent theme in Simbu’s statements. He acknowledged the veteran actor’s long-standing career, remarking on the significance of this final film. “I wish him the best for his upcoming political endeavours and his future,” he added, recognizing that he is not well-versed in politics.

Back in January, following the announcement of the film’s postponement, Simbu took to social media, offering encouragement to Vijay. “Dear Vijay anna, setbacks have never stopped you. You’ve crossed bigger storms than this. This too shall pass,” he conveyed, reinforcing the belief that the film will ultimately see the light of day.

The legal challenges facing Jana Nayagan have intensified the situation. At a January 27 hearing at the Madras High Court, a two-judge bench overturned an earlier directive from a single-judge bench that had instructed the CBFC to certify the film. The court clarified that the censor board would need additional time to file a counter, thus prolonging the uncertainty surrounding the film’s release. Neither KVN Productions, the film’s production company, nor the CBFC offered any comments following the ruling.

As for Simbu’s future projects, he is set to star in Vetrimaaran’s Arasan, which is part of the Vada Chennai universe and co-stars notable actors such as Vijay Sethupathi and Andrea Jeremiah. Additionally, he is gearing up for a project with filmmaker Ashwath Marimuthu, the details of which have yet to be disclosed.
