Tabu Invests Over ₹10 Crore in Luxurious Mumbai Apartment

Bollywood actress Tabu, whose full name is Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, has made a significant investment in real estate by purchasing a 2,153 sq ft apartment in Versova, Mumbai. The property was acquired for ₹10 crore from Godrej Properties, as confirmed through property registration documents.

The apartment is located in the Godrej Skyshore building and the purchase was officially recorded on March 26, 2026. For this transaction, a stamp duty of ₹5.24 lakh and a registration fee of ₹30,000 were collected, reflecting the formalities associated with property acquisition.

In addition to the living space, the acquisition includes two designated car parking spots, while the apartment also features a balcony measuring approximately 127 sq ft. This purchase highlights Tabu’s interest in the upscale real estate market in Mumbai.

Godrej Skyshore is part of a larger development project that encompasses over 27,000 sq ft of land. The project consists of two towers, designated Tower A and Tower B, and will contain five basements in addition to ground and 24 floors, housing a total of 126 residential units.

An inquiry has been sent to Godrej Properties for any additional comments or information regarding the project and Tabu’s purchase. Attempts to reach the actress for her personal remarks have not been successful thus far.

Known for her impactful performances in cinema, Tabu has received multiple accolades, including several National Awards. Her body of work includes critically acclaimed films such as “Maqbool,” “Haider,” and “Andhadhun,” where she is lauded for her ability to take on unconventional roles with depth and emotional resonance.

The Versova area of Mumbai has recently seen other high-profile purchases, including actor and model Gauhar Khan, who acquired three apartments there for a total of ₹10.13 crore. This neighborhood is characterized as a desirable residential micro-market due to its proximity to major commercial and entertainment centers and is well-served by transport links, including the Metro.

Several prominent Bollywood figures, including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan, have chosen to reside in Versova and nearby locales such as Lokhandwala, Khar, Juhu, and Bandra, further enhancing the area’s appeal as a hub for celebrities.

According to the recorded real estate data from Maharashtra’s IGR, Mumbai’s market saw a total of 15,516 property registrations in March 2026, marking a slight increase from the 15,501 registrations in March 2025. However, stamp duty collections decreased by 6% to ₹1,492 crore in March 2026, down from ₹1,589 crore the previous year. This change indicates a shift in the transaction mix within the marketplace, even as registrations remain stable compared to the prior year.
