Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday’s romantic comedy “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri,” released on December 25, is facing challenges at the box office. Despite its holiday launch, the film’s performance has not met expectations, primarily due to competition from the successful film “Dhurandhar,” which has maintained its popularity for three weeks.
On its second day, “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri” collected approximately ₹3.82 crore by 10 PM, bringing its total earnings to around ₹11.57 crore following an opening day collection of ₹7.75 crore. The film was anticipated to gather around ₹5 crore by the end of the second day, indicating a dip in box office momentum.
The overall performance is significantly affected by the success of “Dhurandhar,” which outperformed “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri” by earning ₹12.17 crore on the same Saturday. This stark contrast reveals the impact of established films on new releases, as “Dhurandhar” has firmly positioned itself as the leading title in theaters.
The narrative of “Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri” follows Ray, played by Kartik Aaryan, and Rumi, portrayed by Ananya Panday. Their love story unfolds as they meet on a trip to Croatia. However, complications arise when Rumi is hesitant to leave her aging father, an ex-Army man, to move to the US with Ray after marriage.
Directed by Sameer Sanjay Vidwans, the film features a supporting cast that includes Neena Gupta, Jackie Shroff, and Aruna Irani. Produced under the banners of Dharma Productions and Namah Pictures, the film endeavored to capture the romantic essence but has received mixed reviews, reflecting the challenges faced by many contemporary Bollywood productions in a competitive market.
