Actor Vijay Sethupathi will appear on the upcoming episode of “The Great Indian Kapil Show,” alongside his co-stars Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav, as well as composer A R Rahman. A recent promo reveals a humorous exchange where Vijay shares his unconventional path to acting, leaving host Kapil Sharma in fits of laughter.
In the promo clip, Kapil inquires if Vijay attended an acting school. The actor candidly admits that he never did, as he was previously an accountant for a theater group. Kapil amusingly suggests that perhaps Vijay was inspired by the bank balances of successful actors, which leads to a witty revelation.
Vijay humorously responds, “Nahi, maine apna account dekha, paisa nahi tha toh kamane ka” (No, I checked my account — there was no money, so I had to earn it). His response not only draws applause from Aditi and Siddharth but also elicits laughter from Kapil, highlighting Vijay’s charisma and wit. Fans reacted enthusiastically on social media, flooding the comments with praise for his sense of humor and magnetic presence.
This will be Vijay Sethupathi’s debut on Kapil Sharma’s show, coinciding with the promotion of his upcoming film “Gandhi Talks.” The episode is set to be released on January 31 on Netflix.
The film “Gandhi Talks,” directed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar and produced by Zee Studios, Kyoorius, and Moviemill, is unique as it has no spoken dialogues. It features Vijay Sethupathi alongside Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari, and Siddharth Jadhav, with a musical score composed by A R Rahman.
Following its premiere at the International Film Festival of India in 2023, “Gandhi Talks” is scheduled to hit theaters on January 30, 2026. The film promises to engage audiences with its original storytelling approach and notable cast.
