Zakir Khan Opens Up About His Comedy Hiatus and Health Issues

Comedian Zakir Khan has recently shed light on his upcoming hiatus, addressing concerns regarding his health and outlining his intentions for this break. Initially indicating that his time off was primarily health-related, he now reveals that it is also an opportunity to focus on creative projects he has delayed for years.

During a heartfelt address at an event in Hyderabad in late January, Zakir shared that his break could last several years, potentially extending until 2028 or beyond. He highlighted the importance of prioritizing his health and dealing with personal matters as key reasons for this decision.

In a subsequent conversation at the Spoken Fest, Zakir elaborated further on his hiatus. He clarified that he aims to dedicate time to writing that he has neglected over the past six years. While he acknowledged having minor health issues, he dismissed alarming rumors circulating online, asserting they were exaggerated. He emphasized that his health is not as critical as some reports suggest, even questioning the motives behind such claims.

Zakir also reflected on the toll that years of touring have taken on his physical well-being. He shared insights from his social media about the consequences of a demanding schedule filled with back-to-back performances, early flights, and irregular meals. Despite experiencing health challenges over the past year, he continued to perform, motivated by his love for comedy and the expectations of his audience.

As of early 2026, Zakir Khan is actively engaged in his Papa Yaar live comedy tour, which has seen him performing across India and internationally. He has scheduled major shows, including those at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai, before planning to take a long break from live performances after mid-2026.

Zakir Khan’s upcoming hiatus marks a significant period of reflection and creativity, as he takes the necessary time to focus on his health and writing pursuits while still engaging with his audience in the lead-up to his break.
